Quartz Countertop Installation and Care Instructions

Mar 18, 2022

All engineered quartz contains resins and acrylics that are susceptible to heat, and direct and prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures can damage the surface and cause irreparable damage. Avoid touching hot pans, household items with heating elements, or extremely hot cooking pots or pans. When placing high temperature items, place a heat shield on the surface to avoid direct contact.

To avoid edge chipping, it is recommended to use a 1/8" radius on all corners and a 3/8" radius on all interior corners. The radius will reduce direct stress on corners that can lead to chipping and breaking. Although KJL Quartz is engineered to withstand almost any installation application. Improper installation can cause the material to crack or even break. It is recommended to install on flat surfaces only, ensuring that all weak points include adequate support or reinforcement.

With the highest density of most quartz on the market, KJL Quartz is an exceptional product. Its low porosity results in very low maintenance care requirements. To remove common stains and spills, just use a non-abrasive soap, or vinegar and water. Wipe the surface with a damp cloth or sponge, rinsing if necessary. Repeat steps as needed.

For those stubborn stains, ex. gum or pastes, scrape the contents with a plastic putty knife, then scrub the residue with a damp cloth to remove any excess material. Wash surfaces with non-abrasive soap and water as necessary. Soaking the area for ten minutes softens the contents and makes it easy to remove.
